Maybe you have decision paralysis due to a chronic health condition and you are wanting to feel unstuck and enjoy food again.

That’s a return on investment! We are here to help you figure out what your body needs and what health/recovery can look like in your world.

Checking Your Insurance Benefits

We do everything we can to help our clients navigate coverage but it is ultimately the client's responsibility to know their insurance coverage.

To verify or double check your benefits against ours follow the steps below:

  1. Call the member number on the back of your insurance card and ask the representative the following questions.

  2. Do I have a deductible? Has it been met? (if you have not met your deductible you will pay full contracted rate determined by the payer).

  3. What is my copay/coinsurance for specialists?

  4. Is there a different deductible or copayment for telehealth?

  5. We'd be happy to help you interpret benefits information - please email us at contact@bamboonutritionrd.com

If you’re calling your insurance to see if we are in network, you may need to provide them with these numbers:

  • Not every insurance plan will cover nutrition counseling, so it is always encouraged for you to call and understand your benefits before you meet with your dietitian.

Download our insurance benefit worksheet for notes on what to ask your insurance representative. Call or email us if you have any further questions.

  • If you were not aware of your insurance benefits before meeting with your dietitian, you may receive unexpected denials. If you were quoted coverage but received denials, you can challenge this by using your quoted notes.

Download our insurance denials handout for more information on how to proceed.

Please note you will owe Bamboo Nutrition the cost of the session, and if insurance does pay eventually, you will be refunded once payment from insurance is received.

  • Bamboo Nutrition will submit the insurance claim on your behalf. It can take 2-6 weeks to receive the EOB (Explanation of Benefits) back from your insurance. That will tell us how much insurance is covering versus what is patient responsibility. At that time, we will charge what insurance tells us you owe to your card on file. You can access all invoices through your client portal.
