Meet Shawna
Hi, I'm Shawna! I'm a Registered Dietitian and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) with a passion for helping individuals build healthier, more compassionate relationships with food, body image, and movement.
I’ve supported both adolescents and adults across various levels of care, and I bring deep empathy and a nonjudgmental presence to every client interaction.
My work is grounded in the belief that true healing goes beyond physical nourishment—it involves untangling the complex emotional dynamics we carry around food and our bodies. I aim to guide clients through the often overwhelming world of nutrition with clarity, care, and connection.
I hold a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Loma Linda University, an university known for its whole-person approach to healthcare. In addition to my specialization in eating disorders, I bring over 15 years of experience coaching athletes, with a strong background in performance nutrition and a holistic approach to restoring mindful, joyful movement.
What I enjoy most about my job is witnessing the moment when a client begins to trust themselves again—whether it's making a food choice without guilt, reconnecting with movement in a joyful way, or challenging long-held beliefs about their body. Helping others feel more at peace with food is incredibly rewarding, and being a part of that process is truly an honor.
I chose outpatient dietetics because it allows me to build long-term, meaningful relationships with clients. It allows me to walk alongside individuals through the ups and downs of their journey—offering support, accountability, and connection. It aligns with my belief that healing is not just about food—it’s about empowering people to rebuild trust in themselves, embrace flexibility, and create a life rooted in self-compassion and balance.
In my free time, you’ll usually find me outdoors—whether I’m hiking, exploring new coffee shops, listening to a podcast, or just spending time with friends. I love being in nature and making meaningful memories along the way.
I live in Arizona, therefore I only see clients over video. I have found this does not disrupt treatment progress and often my clients appreciate being in their own space and this can positively impact their experience! I am working to become in network with United Healthcare, UMR, Humana, BCBS, Aetna, and Cigna. If your insurance is not one that I accept, we can provide you with a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement. For more information, please visit our Rates & Insurance page.
