Feeding doesn't happen in isolation.

Our SLP works alongside our dietitians to consider your child's feeding skills and their nutritional needs, growth, food intake, and dietary variety.

Oral Motor & Tongue-Tie Support

Our SLP evaluates how the muscles and structures of the mouth are functioning during feeding, swallowing, and speech.

Support may include:

  • Oral-motor assessment

  • Tongue and oral movement

  • Chewing and swallowing

  • Feeding difficulties associated with restricted oral movement

  • Pre-frenectomy evaluation and therapy, when appropriate

  • Post-frenectomy therapy and functional retraining

  • Coordination with the child's physician, dentist, or other provider when a release is being considered

When feeding is part of the concern, our SLP works alongside our pediatric dietitians to make sure we're looking beyond the mechanics of eating and considering nutrition, growth, and the child's overall relationship with food.
